Guest Anna Bean and Maintaining Tribal Traditions & Council Responsibilities

Today on the NativeTalk.net radio podcast, we welcome Anna Bean for the second week in a row, as she runs for an open seat on the Puyallup Tribal council in this year’s upcoming election. If you want to discover more about her, whether you are a Puyallup member or not, you can connect with her on Facebook here.

Today we discuss the  importance of maintaining Tribal traditions, as we reconnect with our common heritage and help others to find theirs. Finding your purpose in life and your place within the community is extremely important for those who want to avoid the struggles and pitfalls we all find ourselves faced with on a daily basis. We must also be prepared to identify those who are having a difficult time fitting in, and greet them with an open and welcoming spirit. The council also has responsibilities when it comes to this, as they are the organization best suited to create programs and opportunities for folks to find those connection opportunities.
