There are 566 federally recognized American Indian and Alaska Native tribes and villages in the United States, each with their own culture, language and history.
Every tribe has unique traditions and distinct styles of housing, dress, and food. Federally recognized tribes vary in population and land base, but all are considered sovereign nations and hold a specific nation-to-nation relationship with the United States.
We must ensure our unique culture is never forgotten or lost. We believe in embracing our native culture and providing access for all members to experience and learn where we came from. We also believe in sharing our heritage and culture with the world in a bold, proud tradition.
Our goal is to assist all Tribal members with their goals to express and share their culture, and to find a platform to make that happen. We at NativeTalk.net accomplish this via our podcast, which is hosted by Cliff & Brandon but is open to ANY tribal member who wishes to have their voice or agenda heard. Contact us if you would like to be a guest on the show.
Another great way to connect is through Pow Wows hosted by individual tribes throughout the country. Click the Pow Wow link to find one near you.
We also have a blog which anyone can contribute to (just email it in and our editor will post it).
No matter what you do or where you go, strive to CONTRIBUTE to your community and help make it STRONG!
